Suva serves as the capital of Fiji and the largest city in the South Pacific island nation, set on a peninsula on the southeastern coast of Viti Levu. Its deep, well-sheltered harbor has long made it a hub for trade and travel, and the compact downtown reflects a layered history through colonial-era government buildings, church spires, and a lively municipal market where produce, spices, and handicrafts are traded daily.
