Then visit [LF] the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to learn about elephant conservation, including orphaned elephant calves. As part of Globus family of brands Lighthouse Project, your visit contributes to the Trust’s mission. Also visit the Karen Blixen Museum, dedicated to the Danish baroness and author of Out of Africa—a 1937 autobiographical account (later adapted into an Academy Award-winning film) that illustrates her life as a coffee farmer and her connections with Kenya. Later, visit the Giraffe Center to learn about the Rothschild giraffe.

WILDLIFE WORRIORS Discover the world’s most successful rescue and rehabilitation program for orphaned elephants and rhinos at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Orphans, rescued from threats such as poaching and habitat loss, are brought to the Nairobi Nursery for round-the-clock care from dedicated Keepers, who help them heal from grief and trauma. As the animals recover, they move to reintegration centers like Ithumba, where they learn vital survival skills and gradually reconnect with wild herds.
